Participate in 10 hours of research per week, including field sampling and data analysis

Developed an ongoing project assessing and monitoring the marine ecosystem health of the Hampton Roads Area

Selected for highly competitive Research Experience in Marine and Estuarine Sciences funded by the National Science Foundation at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore from a pool of over 250 applicants.

Developed an independent research project assessing the health of black sea bass in the Mid Atlantic Blight region using fat/oil content readings and body mass indices.

Monitored live black sea bass for specific water and condition standards for ten weeks, and euthanized and dissected fish for health analysis

Conducted statistical analysis in R to document, compare and contrast the health of black sea bass and develop hypotheses for health disparities and similarities

Produced a proposal, final report, abstract, poster and presentation, presenting at the 2018 ASLO Conference in Portland, Oregon
